COR'16 FIRST CIP OUTING: RECYCLABLES COLLECTION

On 7th November 2015, COR members and our deaf friends participated in a local community involvement programme (CIP). In this event, we worked with Avelife Foundation and were tasked to collect recyclable items for community fundraising. Despite waking up early on a Saturday morning, we could see many excited and familiar faces for this event.

Look at the excitement on the face!

Self introduction for the new faces

Our day kickstarted with the organisers giving us a briefing. We are very thankful to have one of our cgls, Sadrina, signing the instructions from the organisers, so that our deaf friends could fully understand the briefing.

Shortly after, we were split into small groups and we went door to door to collect the recyclables.

We are glad to see everyone helping one another whenever necessary; be it collecting recyclables and/or signing.

Because of teamwork and effective communication, we managed to finish covering all the blocks early.

Look at the amount of newspaper collected!
It is getting more and more!
That left us with more time to get to know each other better before the debrief.
Their conversation seems to be very interesting!

After the debrief, we ended our CIP outing with a mandatory group shot.

Thank you for coming down to join us in such a meaningful event. Hope to see everyone soon!
