COR '15 Meet & Greet Session

It's that time of the year again, where COR members share about what COR is all about, and open up registration for this year's OCIP trip!

2 sessions were held last Saturday 17th January at the SADeaf AVA room.
The enthusiastic participants from the Morning session!

The eager listeners from the Afternoon session!

Both sessions started off with registration conducted by our CGLs before our COR'15 Chairperson kicked off the information session with a speech about COR, our mission and what we do. As always, Pei Yu's signing was on the mark as she has served with COR for more than a year now!

Pei Yu giving a heart-felt and passionate speech.

This was followed by introductions of the rest of the committee, which brought about a round of laughter in the room, as many of us, who are still not as proficient, struggled with signing. Thankfully many of the participants of the sessions were patient and corrected us when we signed wrongly!! heehee

We saw some fresh faces amidst familiar faces.
This Meet & Greet introductory video of this year's OCIP camp

Once the programmers finished introducing themselves, the introductory video of this year's OCIP camp, which the PnP spent days creating, was played. Afterwhich, details of the camp were explained by our 3 pretty Programmers, Charmaine, Eelin and Frederica (you can also call her Fred). You can tell they spent hours rehearsing their  parts and polishing up on their signing prior to the presentation. Great job on presenting both verbally and through signing without a script girls!

This year, COR'15 is heading to...... *drumrolls*.... Phong Thanh, Vietnam for a 9 Day trip, including 6 days of CIP, 1 day of R&R and 2 days of cultural exchange with the Hoa Sen University and Deaf Community in Vietnam. In one of the Vietnamese villages, we will be refurbishing classrooms, teaching the children some basic Science and English as well as do some housekeeping chores as part of our CIP!

Excitedly and actively paying attention to the Programmer's presentation.

Once the presentation concluded, we had a Question & Answer session where many of the HI participants clarified their doubts over the trip and mingled with the COR members over Orange Juice.

We're glad that many of you turned up for this Meet & Greet Session on Saturday. We loved that we got a chance to chit chat and interact with you guys and definitely got to know all of you better! Thanks for coming and stay tuned for more updates regarding selection for the camp via Facebook! All the best for your applications and see you soon(:

Special thanks to the Programmers for their informative presentation, Logs for their meticulous arranging, PnP for their entertaining introductory video and CGLs for their constant promoting of this event.
