Day 4 - Construction and Homestay !

Its the early morning of day 4 and we are up and ready to kickstart the day with construction work!

Firstly, we have to lay the foundation for the canteen and that means a lot of soil have to be used. We distributed our workload evenly as everyone formed a human chain to pass the buckets of soil along.

Everyone plays a part !
Everyone is participating so you can imagine that there is indeed lots of fun in it. The hot weather takes our sweat but not our smiles as everyone seems to be enjoying themselves indeed :D

Joey loves the weather !

Of course the buckets does not fill itself with soil! Much thanks to our most accomplishing shovelling team. It is especially challenging when the soil gets moist after raining the day before.

After the foundation of the canteen is layered with soil, rocks and weeds have to be removed manually as well. Finally, the foundation has to be finished off by compressing the soil with a large wood stump! Its quite draining but apparently, it is really fun as well !

After a fulfilling day of construction work, here comes the highlight of the day! Homestay! We had really lots of fun and felt really welcome. The villagers were extremely hospitable and friendly!

We also went for the carnival games located just nearby our homestay residences! We even won some prizes :)

We also went around visiting other homestay families whom are very friendly as well.

They even went through the trouble to prepare food for us. It was very delicious.

It was a tiring day but a rewarding one. We had a great sleepover and we are really grateful for their warm hospitality :)
