Comm Retreat : A Foodful Trip at Kukup

Happy New Year everyone!
🎉😁🎉
To kickstart a great 2016 ahead, COR had a committee retreat for all the hard work done last year. It was a relaxing two-day getaway for us to bond with each other and pamper ourselves!

Early in the morning, we departed to Kukup Island, which is located at the southern part of Johor in Malaysia. Before catching an one-hour bus ride to Kukup, we had a hearty Malaysian breakfast at Johor Bharu.

We stayed at a homestay style chalet with a spacious living room, which is super comfortable for us to chill out and play card games.

Also, there is a built-in karaoke room! This got some of our members (very passionate and aspiring singers! :P) super duper excited and we had non stop singing sessions!

We also went for a motor boat ride to check out Kukup Island's main attraction, the Kelong. After that, we wandered around the small little shops that sell souvenirs and seafood products, and quenched our thirsts with cooling coconut water and yummy shaved ice. It was really "shiok!" to have a cheap icy drink under the hot sun!

As the sun went down, we played mahjong after having a scrumptious seafood dinner (while the singers proceeded their next round of never-ending k sessions). It was a really fun time where everyone truly enjoyed doing different activities! Some went fishing (caught an eel and mudskippers haha) and some enjoyed massaging (slight painful screams involved!).

Each of the members got to know everyone better and at the end of the night, we lit and released sky lanterns, carrying our new year wishes to the skies and beyond.

For the last day, we had a second round of massage sessions again after having porridge, fried noodles, nasi lemak and kueh as breakfast. It was indeed, a very "food"ful trip when we had cereal prawns, topshell salad and steamed fish for lunch. And around 3pm, we finally reached Singapore and we are all prepared for a new term in school!

Till then!
