Day 1

At long last our 10 months of preparation leading up to the actual trip has finally turned fruitful. The year 2014 marks a milestone for us as it was the first time Camp Outreach ventures beyond South East Asia to land of the Alps, Nepal! On 15th June 2014, participants reported to Changi Airport Terminal 2 in the wee hours of the morning to catch our flight to Bangkok where we would be transferred to Dhulikhel, Kathmandu the largest city and capital of Nepal. Despite the early morning flight, our participants were not daunted as they greet their fellow group mates with cheerful smiles.

Upon reaching the Kathmandu Airport, we were warmly welcomed by our corresponding Nepalese operators. Flower wreaths were hanged around us as the locals display their hospitality and well wishes to the start of our journey.

We were then transported by vehicle to Mirabel Resort, our cozy place of residence for the next 4 days where a stunning panoramic view of Himalayan peaks and valleys awaits. The food and accommodation were no less disappointing and it was definitely worth the time and effort spent to canvass for the trip.

As it was already nearing the night time when we reach our resort, we had to be quick to gobble down our food just to catch the sunset at the highest point of the resort. Witnessing our first sunset together in Nepal was definitely a rewarding scene that reaffirmed our motivation to reach out to the hearing impaired community through our sustained efforts. Right before the sun rest for the night, the participants were quick to grab a few precious shots together. Say Cheezze!

Due to the long day we had today, we ended off day of activity with some games planned by the programmers as well as a short rehearsal session to prepare for our appreciation performance to the locals.
