GARANG GUUUUNNNNNIIIIIIII! honk* honk*

Ho Ho Ho!!! The long-awaited Garang Guni event is back again! This time, it was carried out over a period of 2 days (9th and 16th December). Kudos to all the enthusiastic volunteers who turned up for the event!

9th December 2012
FLYER DISTRIBUTION

Specifically on this day, flyers are being distributed to the households in the various blocks of flats. (To inform them about preparing unwanted newspapers or old clothes for the collection on the following Sunday)
Due to the weird architectural design of the flats, the distribution of flyers were made much more difficult since it was hard to separate the tasks among the volunteers.  However, despite all the unexpected difficulties faced, volunteers were still able to find the joy in ‘giving’, and had fun along the way.

On a side note, Dawnnnnnnnnnn whattttt areeeee youuuuuu doooooing???????
(kekeke* you are caught slacking) =P

16th December 2012
WE ARE THE STRONGEST GARANG GUNIS EVERRR!!!

Look at these happy cheesy faces!!!! * These faces stayed on even till late into the event*
Three cheers for all the volunteers who persevered throughout the event despite all the exhaustion experienced!

It is indeed heartwarming to see both the RSPHI and COR volunteers coming together and serving the same purpose!

Preparatory briefing given to the volunteers before setting off.

YAY ITS FINALLY TIME FOR LUNCH!!!

Let's sing the hungry song* Hungry hungry! Very hungry! ...

and.... EXTREMELY HUNGRY

yay! our stomaches are filled now =P
Its time to go back to work!

Hehehehe! Look at her grinning widely over there!
The more the merrier!

Finally the truck is here to collect the collected stuffs. WOW that's a lot!

 *off we go for recycling*

On another side note, look at that!

I didn't know mini-7-eleven looks like this!

To conclude the day, it is indeed heart-warming to see not only the volunteers, but Singaporeans contributing back to the society through this meaningful event. Although the old newspapers and clothes are considered to be junks*, and most people would be more than pleased to pass these junks* to us, but it is the thought that counts. The thought while collecting and keeping those 'junks' for our event that eventually raised the awareness among the citizens for the deaf community.

:)

ps: Hope the volunteers had a good time soaking their tired feet in the warm water back at home!
