Thank you for coming down to the COR booth at the WSC fair today! It's great to see so many fellow undergraduates who are so eager to find out more about COR.
We have collected a number of enquiries and thought that if it concerns others, it may concern you too. Let us share these enquiries with you here...
1) Once I sign up at WSC Fair, does it mean that I am recruited as a member of the Welfare Services Club?
No. By signing up, you are only indicating your interest in that respective Regular Service Project (RSP)/Special Project (SP)/Supporting Committee that you have signed up for. We keep your particulars to send you reminders and/or notifications about our upcoming activities.
2) So how do I become a member of Welfare Services Club?
Interested candidates have to go for a recruitment interview on the 18th or 19th August '08, 6.30pm - 10.30pm at the Student Activity Centre (beside Cafe by the Quad). As spaces are limited, only successful applicants will become a member of Welfare Services Club.
3) How many points do I get for joining Camp OutReach Main Committee?
Chairperson - 9 pts.
V-Chairperson - 7 pts.
Other portfolios - 5 pts.
Sub-committee - 3 pts.
Note: Getting the points is inequivalent to getting a place in a hall.
Getting a position/portfolio is inequivalent to getting points. (commitment counts!)
4) What portfolios are open and what do the specific portfolios do?
Please refer to our previous entry here.
5) Can I join as a volunteer only?
Yes, but our recruitment for volunteers is not open yet. However, you can sign up with us and indicate your interest at the WSC Fair. We will notify you again once the recruitment is open!
6) Do I need to go to the Welcome Tea?
You are encouraged to come and learn more about the Welfare Services Club and the various options (Volunteer Groups) that WSC offers. This will give you a better idea of what WSC is about and will also help you in making the right decision to join the big WSC Family. Furthermore, light refreshments are prepared for you!
7) Is Regular Service Project Hearing Impaired (RSPHI) the same as COR?
No. Both RSPHI and COR serves the local Deaf Community but they are two different volunteer groups under WSC. You can find out more about RSPHI here.
