Day Three
In the early morning, we were invited to the Mayor’s place.
It was definitely our honour to be able to take part in their weekly morning
ceremony.
The ceremony was started with the mayor’s speech. We were warmly welcomed by
the Mayor to Pagansinan. After which, something refreshing happened. The staffs did their weekly exercise together in
their uniform. This is definitely an uncommon scene in Singapore. Following
which, we had some phototaking sessions with the Mayor as well as tour around
their offices.
We went back to the
school after the visit to the Mayor office.
While some of us carried on from the construction work we have done
yesterday,
some of us went to teach the kids. Guess what? Today was our first
time teaching the kids there. Initially, we were excited to see the kids, but
at the same time, afraid that kids could not understand what we wanted to teach or
might have language barrier.

But all our worries were unfound. Thankfully, we
had the help of the Philippines volunteers, so the children could understand the
rules of the games very well. They were running and jumping around. When their
group won the game, they jumped in the midair. Loud cheers were heard everwhere.
Hands were seen punching in the air to HURRAY for their win. The air was filled
with their hearty laughter. Even if they fell while playing, they picked
themselves up quickly as they could not wait to continue playing the games! As the
teaching IC for the day, it was heartwarming to see the kids enjoying
themselves much more than what we had expected for the game.

Even for the lessons,
they did not disappoint us. Be it some of the kids may be younger, it was heart
warming to see the older ones helping the younger ones so that everyone can be on
the same pace.

Such energy and enthusiasm in the kids really makes us feel like
seeing them again. But all good things have to come to an end. As the day turned darker, it was time for the kids to go home. So we bade goodbye to the kids. But deep in our heart, we can't wait for the next day to start, so that we can see them again! A special dinner today- Singapore
food festival awaited us. It was a cultural food exchange, a meal specially prepared by our 6 big cooks.
The food was so finger licking good! So now we know who to look for yummy food!

Looking forward to day 4 for more lovely experience!
