COR'15 Christmas Outing

We are just a day away from 2015 and have all of you jumped on the bandwagon of listing out your new year resolutions just like everyone else? Christmas is over but I guess we are all still immersed deeply in the festive mood isn't it? Well, COR and the HIs certainly had a fantastic pre-Christmas celebration. So glad for the fine weather in the morning as we proceeded on to play some active games in the outdoors. We gathered at Potong Pasir neighbourhood for some games and our lunch before heading to Kaileun's house for the next activities which I will not reveal now.

Our first game for our Christmas outing was Musical chairs with a twist in it. Ever heard of musical chairs without chairs? Impossible? But nope, you can still spell the word fun in this game even without chairs. We had the chairs replaced with recycled plastic films instead and the game just became more and more intense after a few rounds of elimination and removing of the plastic films.

Our station master-Bryan!

Concentrating hard to stay close to the nearest plastic film on the ground.

Donny getting very excited and pointing out to people and to check if their legs were out of the plastic films on the ground.

Little did we know that the HIs and COR members can be really competitive when playing physical activities! Just look at this. Evident enough to show that everyone is hungry to land their feet on the filmsy plastic films, resorting to all sort of measures to prevent competitors from stepping on it.

The first game was rather a warming up game as for the second game, it gets more physical and raise the element of fun up to another level. The Christmas tree web.

Felicia facilitating us for this game.

There are bound to have playful people who are distracted even when the game master is explaining on the rules of the game but wait...Don't you find them looking a little cute in the paper hats?

THAT RESEMBLANCE.

Actually the paper hats on Bryan, Kelvin and Aaron head weren't hats at all. They were "catchers" shaped in candy form to catch Christmas ornaments hung on the giant web. Yummy. Everything in this game feel so Christmassy and sweet. How lovely! *Inserts heart shaped emoji*
In this game, we were required to pull out the ornaments tied on the web and throw it down into the paper candy catcher. You may think its easy but its not. Just imagine if you miss your throw, the ornament is not counted and your efforts of climbing up is wasted. One group is only allowed to send one person up the web at one time and to only grab one ornament. It was a little tricky in the sense.

However this did not stop the COR members and HIs to unleash the inner spiderman in them. That's Kelvin and Kaileun competing to snatch the highest ornament tied on the web. Both of them managed to get their hawked on ornament before climbing up the web.

Even though this game included a height element in it, we always ensure to practice well safety first. COR do not condone dangerous acts hence its always our responsibility to make sure nobody get injured after dry testing done by our fellow CGLs. Kudos to them to always ensuring games that were safe without compromising the safety in it. And this is Isabelle, our new friend! She is Dave's best friend! So happy to know new friends and widen our social circle on this mini Christmas outing.

A mash up of group 2 and group 3. Yes, we are all clad in either red or green since its Christmas! How can we ever forget the signature colours of Christmas :)

We settled our lunch at the nearby coffee shop and the three groups had their lunch with their group members. The day just get better and better when new friends came to the outing. Pretty Jiayi who came and brighten the day even brighter with her never ending chitty chatty personality.

Unfortunately no photos of our lunch were taken that day. Finished the whole plate of chicken rice within a mere second because we were all famished. Plus did I mention that the chicken rice was really good? I could drown my chicken parts in the awesome chilli without feeling a tad sick.

Moving on, we went to Kaileun's house for the Christmas exchange and the next two activities. It was really a wonderful surprise. Even I was blew away from the decorations put up by the CGLs from scratch. It doesn't have to be luxurious ornaments crafted finely, the newspapers can easily make a gorgeous slogan on the wall too. All we need is just a little creative mind. Thank you CGLs!

Look at this! Just what I had mentioned previously.

Our third game after lunch was a less physical one but everyone is pretty much refreshed from the hearty lunch they had previously. This time, it is facilitated by Jiemin who I reckoned has a hidden artistic talent in her. Before I explain why....let us go into the details for this game. In this game, everyone in the group is allocated a number and was required to drew out the allocated image strips in this game. At the end when the time stops ticking, we have to piece them up together like a puzzle and the fastest group will win as they shout out what the image strips form into. Therefore we have to ensure each image strip is well drawn or else it does not make sense to what the image will becomes.

This coming from group 2! Looking like an alien rather than a penguin hahaha.

Look at this! The exact picture compared to group 2's alien looking animal! Ming sheng will hung up the combined image strips while the 3 groups proceeded on to forming their image as well.

OLAF! How can we forget this cute creature on Christmas day! This is why I mentioned that Jiemin has a hidden artistic talent in her. I cannot stop swooning over the different images she drew out from scratch all by herself.

The final game was led by Mingsheng and it comprises of sharpening our sign language as well as lots of communication within each group. We were required to pick an ice cream stick from a large stash. The ice cream we pick will determine our following moves in the game. Whether its bankruptcy or  points awarded have to depends on the lady luck. It seemed that the lady luck was against all 3 groups as all of them picked the bankruptcy stick for at least once. Bankruptcy stick just meant that the group is not allowed to guess a letter in this Christmas wheel of Fortune and the other groups will be granted the chance to pick their ice cream stick.

This burden Kai leun was the first person to make sense out of the sentence but look how hard he was trying to sign the sentence out. The green underlined words in the sentence have to be signed out while the red underlined words have to finger spelt. Seemed like Kaileun didn't quite nail on the signing but its okay! There are always second chances.

Everyone being very attentive and almost breaking into cold sweat for some while he was attempting to sign out the sentence of "How's your lunch just now?"

And there he was, trying to fight his chance again to gain more points for the group even when he signed a wrong word! I believe he does know how to sign but sometimes, its our anxiety that get the best of us.

And everytime other groups were trying to sign, this burden Kaileun just has to foil everything!Peiyu even has to blocked him hahahha. Better luck next time Kaileun! Group 2 and 3 can always win even when you step in and disturb us!

Cadance from group 2 was trying to learn from Aloysious on how to sign the sentence. This is what I meant meant by communication. Communication is absolutely not allowed with the other team members in this game actually haha.

Cadance's assigned sentence was "It's time for Christmas exchange." With that, everyone started out picking randomly pasted numbers on the wall for the Christmas exchange.

Just look at this spread of goodness on the little corner that everyone is anticipating to get close even before christmas exchange!

Happy people discussing about their new loot from the Christmas exchange.

Afterwards we had the winners announced and it was group 3! Our one and only green group for the outing.

Weiling and Jiayi. Cheeky Weiling! Please don't show your black teeth anymore ahhah!

With that I will conclude this post-Christmas blog post and I hereby wish everyone here a Happy new year! Really appreciate some of the HIs friends who came over after their tiring kayaking expedition just to be present for this Xmas outing. COR could instantly feel the warmth from all of you. Some of them even made their way to this Xmas outing despite having their own events afterwards. Much love and appreciation!

COR would like to wish everyone out there a
HAPPY 2015 *blow kisses across*
LET US ALL HAPPILY USHER IN THE NEW YEAR.

Signing off and till then!

Yours truly,
Cadance
