What inspired
you to join COR'12?
I joined COR
because I want to continue learning and using sign language as I hope that I
can sign better than before. I will also have the opportunity to make friends
with more HIs. On top of that, I’ll get to go overseas for an adventure,
whereby I would like to challenge myself, trying new things and getting out of
my comfort zone.
What are your
hobbies?
I like to watch
TV and listen to music. Also, ever since I learned sign language and got to
know about song signing, I sometimes will try to song sign at home. Of course,
not forgetting that I like to eat and sleep too just like many other CORians!

about her:
Describe this person in three words, and
state why.
Sisterly, committed, hardworking. The
effort she puts into COR both as a business manager and as a friend portrays
her as both a dedicated leader and a sisterly figure.
Name one asset this person has which is a
treasure to COR’12.
She is able to be down-to earth while
still having high goals for COR and working towards them. This balance will
allow her to be able to set sufficiently high yet achievable targets.
What is your first impression of this
person?
She was very approachable and friendly.
Her concern for others was also a striking characteristic as a first
impression, although I also felt that she was quite shy initially.

What inspired
you to join COR'12?
After learning
of COR’s mission to allow people in the HI community to enrich their
experiences through overseas trips, I felt that it was very meaningful, and
something I wanted to be a part of.
What are your
hobbies?
I really enjoy
doing handicrafts, even though I’m not very good at it. My mother introduced
them to me at a young age, and I like the feeling of satisfaction on
completion.

person.
She speaks fluent Cantonese! So for those
of you who can speak or want to learn to speak Cantonese, go look for her and
get her to teach you. It'll come in handy when you watch Hong Kong dramas!
What is your first impression of this
person?
At first glance, she seems like a quiet
and shy girl who does not talk much. In reality, she is NOT like that at all.
:P She's a really cool and fun person to talk to!
What game would you play with this person
and why?
I'll play any game with her except games
that involve pinching. If the game involves pinching, I'll stay far far away
from her! Her pinch is probably as potent as her Cantonese.

What are your
hobbies?
I love to
listen to music (and I miss making music!), read novels, engage in outdoor
activities (because I can’t sit still and I love the sun J). I love to watch
movies too!
What’s your
favorite quote?
“Don’t give up
when you still have something to give: Nothing is really over…until the moment
you stop trying.” Whenever I feel like giving up I’ll think of this quote and
it has really pushed me on, to keep on trying and give it my all. So even if
I’ve failed, at least I know that I’ve done my best.

Xinyi is a karaoke set with
built-in MayDay songs. Forever ONZ when it comes to McFlurry
(or ice cream, for that matter) during BS1 break time. This is a treasure
because we like MayDay and McFlurry manymany.

Bubbly. Cheerful. Friendly.
Because a sad and quiet
Xinyi is unheard of. Maybe lethargic or tired... But never unfriendly.
And who can forget her funny
(but apt) descriptions of signs during BS1.

You might not know that
Xinyi is actually from Singapore. Because according to FaceBook, Xinyi is
from Ga-Mokopane, Limpopo, South Africa.
MERVYN
What inspired you to join COR'12?
COR’11 was a enriching and fun experience. I’ve learnt a lot throughout the year of preparation and I made many new friends during this journey. These are what spur me on to join COR’12.
What are your hobbies?
I love doing sports such as running and swimming. I have also taken up photography a few years ago, and it has taught me to view things from different perspectives, and I learnt to appreciate them better.

What is your first impression of this person?
I thought that he appeared rather stern and serious. However, upon further interactions with him, I realised that he is actually a very nice and amiable person who can be rather funny at times as well.
Tell us something we don’t know about this person?
He is Emotionally Impaired (think RSPEI), which is evident from his famous only-3-seconds-smile! He is also the founder of Botox Club, which apparently only has 1 other member currently. :P

Justin Bieber's Baby and Lady Gaga's Poker Face. Not so much to do with the song lyrics (in fact nothing to do with that at all) but more so of the song titles, both for obvious reasons – his sign name is baby because he resembles one and he is known for his poker face! (See Q2) (;

What inspired
you to join COR'12?
I like the idea
of doing my part to reach out and empower the hearing-impaired community and
the element of adventure is also a big draw.
What are your
hobbies?
I enjoy playing soccer, basketball and hockey.
I love nature so I like to take walks or cycle in parks. I also like watching
US and HK dramas.
What Ding Zhi has to say

state why.
Tall, friendly and weird. The first 2
words kind of say it all. Weird as to me tall people that are gentle and
friendly are kind of creepy. Imagine a friendly giant???

Brains? He seems smart with lots of ideas
therefore I think he could contribute whenever COR is short of ideas. Looks
like he suits the role of biz mag rather well!!!
What game would you play with this person
and why?
Soccer! Of course it would be virtual
soccer as I will definitely lose to him in real life soccer!!! It would be nice
to watch him use Arsenal.
WILLY
What are your
hobbies?
I love
traveling, and backpacking. Venturing to places beyond the common ground,
and
exploring the world beyond. I also love counting money! =)

person.
He’s been involved in nearly all the BIG
FOUR committees in NTU. First it was ODAC, then Student Union, and now WSC.
News reports forecast he’ll be joining CAC next year.
What is your first impression of this
person?
He had this nerd look: Serious, quiet and
studious. But as I got to know him better, my impression of him changed! He’s
actually a down-to-earth and responsible person!

Diligent! Willy is constantly giving his
all for Camp Outreach! Even when we were supposed to relax at a camp, he was
actively working on settling a bubble tea business deal!
